Teeth in a Day –
IMPLANT SUPPORTED DENTURES and SINGLE TOOTH DENTAL IMPLANTS
Tooth loss, gum and bone disease affect millions of people worldwide, on every continent, within every age group. Worldwide, few hundred million people are thought to be missing one or more teeth. More than 40 million people are estimated to be fully edentulous in the Western world alone. Completely edentulous jaws are a much more widespread handicap than most of us realize. Major barriers for solving the problem are the perceived complexity, antiquated technology and high cost of multi-step complex treatment. There is a solution: cost effective, enthusiastically accepted, breakthrough procedure.
Patients suffering with uncomfortable and painful dentures, as well as patients living with unsightly partial bridges, which are causing even more damage to their remaining teeth and gum line, now have a clinically proven, FDA accepted treatment option for replacing missing or non-functional teeth.
Barrington Dental Care is very proud to be among the few centers in Chicagoland to offer the innovative new implant technique called Teeth in a Day. Teeth in a Day is specifically designed for people with dentures or in need of full upper and/or lower restorations. Patients that qualify for Teeth in a Day receive four Dental Implants and a full set of new replacement teeth per arch in just a few appointments. The Teeth in a Day implants can be immediately loaded, instead of waiting months to heal. The fixed provisional bridge can be completed within a day. This is one of the most exciting options we have ever had in implant dentistry because the goal of most patients who wear dentures is to be able to go back to a time when they had fixed teeth.
The major benefit to the Teeth in a Day Dental Implant Procedure is how quickly dentures can be replaced with permanent implants and fixed, non-removable, new replacement teeth. Barrington Dental Care is a leader in delivering the life changing AO4 procedure for those patients who are “dentally exhausted”. Unlike other approaches that can use 6, 8, or even more implants per arch, and often involve bone grafting, Barrington Dental Care uses this proven technique that involves only 4 specially placed implants, usually without bone grafts or other ancillary surgical procedures, meaning lower costs and reduced healing time. And the success rate of AO4 is superior to more traditional approaches, and is designed to last a life time.
The end result is a solid base to attach your new teeth that does not have to be removed. The procedure saves time and money, restores normal function and will enhance the quality of your life.
What are the advantages of a single-tooth implant over a bridge?
A dental implant provides several advantages over other tooth replacement options. In addition to looking and functioning like a natural tooth, a dental implant replaces a single tooth without damaging the health of neighboring teeth. A common treatment for the loss of a single tooth, a tooth-supported fixed bridge, requires that adjacent teeth be ground down to support the cemented bridge.
Because a dental implant will replace your tooth root, the bone is better preserved. With a bridge, some of the bone that previously surrounded the tooth begins to deteriorate. Dental implants integrate with your jawbone, helping to keep the bone healthy.
In the long term, a single implant can be more esthetic and easier to keep clean than a bridge. Gums can recede around a bridge, leaving a visible defect when the metal base or collar of the bridge becomes exposed. Resorbed bone beneath the bridge may lead to an unattractive smile. And, the cement holding the bridge in place can wash out, allowing bacteria to decay the teeth under the bridge.
